Rwanda offers very amazing products made from extrodinary material. In Kagali, non-biodegradable waste, like vinyl advertising banners and jute rice bags are used to create one-of-a-kind accessories such as purses and wallets with various colors. Each bag is lined with a fabric called Kitenge in East Africa or Ankarain in West Africa. Due to the nature of the materials used, no two products are exactly. This bag can survive all weather conditions.
*Kitenge is the sling that holds a baby on the mother's back while she carries on with other duties, it is the wrap around skirt that she wears around the house/to church/to visit neighbors and it is the beautiful dress made for a daughter's wedding.
